Having qualified as a Nutritional Therapist at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition (DipION), and subsequently the University of West London (BSc Nutritional Therapy),  I set up Good Food Works to help spread the word about the positive impact a diet rich in good, nutritious food can have on our health.

Food shouldn’t be complicated or confusing, but for many, thinking about what’s right or wrong in their diet can be a real problem – and can even add unwanted stress to meal times!

My approach is all about working with you to simplify food and make it an enjoyable and rewarding part of your life. By explaining how food is broken down and used by the body I can help you to explore the foods that will benefit you the most and help you live the healthiest life you can!

I am trained in the application of Functional Medicine and run one-to-one consultations during which I listen to your story, and gain an insight and understanding of your health background and your relationship with food. With this in mind I can then help you to improve your choices and focus on what’s right for you. We can then work together to implement the necessary changes to help you optimise your health and restore balance.

I am registered with, and practice within the guidelines laid out by, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT), adhering to strict National Occupation Standards, and am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which regulates the Nutritional Therapy profession.  I am also a registered Metabolic Balance coach and Map My Gut affiliate, both being specific programmes to increase understanding of underlying barriers to weight loss.

Good Food Works - Nutritional Therapy
My Story

My career as a nutritional therapist follows a long and varied career in the busy, stressful worlds of both marketing consultancy and recruitment. And, as with so many, my own illness was the reason why I began to explore the power of food to improve my health and well being.

I suffered from various digestive issues for around 10 years and couldn’t find any solutions or explanations through traditional means. A chance encounter with a nutritional therapist led to a conversation that finally provided the answers that turned my health around. The causes of the symptoms that I experienced – constant bloating, food intolerances and even an intestinal parasite – were identified and resolved.

I was given advice and a programme that made a really positive impact on my life – a better relationship with food – an understanding of what it was actually doing to me and, as a consequence, a happier outlook on life!

It wasn’t just what I was told, but the way it was explained that made everything fall into place, and helped me understand what my body was doing in reaction to my food.

I was so inspired by the changes in my own life that I embarked on the four year Gold-Standard nutritional training at ION so that I can now offer support and advice to people seeking solutions to their own similar problems.
