IBS & Digestive Issues

Struggling with bloating, unpredictable digestion, and constant fatigue?

When your gut isn’t working properly, it affects everything — your energy, your focus, your confidence.

I support women in midlife to understand what’s driving their symptoms and take clear, structured steps to resolve them.

Calm digestion. Clearer thinking. Steady, reliable energy.

You may recognise yourself here

You feel bloated most days - sometimes uncomfortably so

Your digestion is inconsistent and difficult to predict

You think about where the nearest toilet is when you’re out

Your energy dips and brain fog make it hard to stay focused

You've tried changing your diet, but nothing has worked long term

You're beginning to wonder if this is something you just have to live with

Your weight just seems to keep creeping up and you can't understand why

Constipation builds and leaves you feeling uncomfortable and helpless

This is far more common than you might think - particularly during midlife.

But it isn't something you have to accept.

Digestive symptoms like IBS are rarely random

They are usually the result of underlying imbalances — often involving gut function, hormones, liver function, stress, and inflammation — all of which can shift significantly during midlife.

When these are understood properly, symptoms can begin to settle.

My role is to help you make sense of what’s happening in your body, and guide you through a clear and considered plan to improve it.

As we work together, you can expect

Noticeably less bloating and discomfort

More regular and predictable digestion

Improved energy across the day

Clearer thinking and better concentration

Confidence in knowing what supports your body - and what doesn't

A steady return to feeling like yourself again

A structured, personalised approach

There is no single diet or protocol that works for everyone.

Instead, I take a step-by-step approach, tailored to you.

1.    Build a clear picture

We look at your symptoms, history, lifestyle and current diet to understand what is driving your symptoms.

2.    Identify key triggers and imbalance

So you're not relying on guesswork or unnecessary restriction.

3.   Put the right support in place

Using targeted nutrition and practical changes that fit into your life.

 4.  Adjust as your body responds

So progress is ongoing, and results are sustainable for the long-term.

This is a thoughtful and methodical process, designed to create lasting change, not short-term fixes.

Functional testing can be included where appropriate, but is never used unnecessarily.

Everything is explained clearly, so you feel informed and confident at each stage.

Functional Tests

Understanding gut symptoms needs a fair amount of detective work. There are a number of complex mechanisms and causes that may be underlying specific symptoms, which is why functional testing is often recommended in packages.  With these tests we are able to identify more quickly the most effective strategy to help address symptoms. Here are a few of the most commonly used tests.  Many others are available, dependent on symptoms.

IgG-Mediated Food Sensitivity Test

A home-based finger prick blood test is analysed against a panel of more than 200 foods to identify any that are stimulating antibody production and inflammation, which may underlie digestive, energy or systemic health concerns.

HuMap Hormone Profile

The HuMap urine test provides a comprehensive overview of female hormones, their metabolites, and the efficiency of the enzymes that metabolise these hormones.  It helps identify blockages or deficiencies in the metabolism of hormones which may impact on health particularly during peri-menopause.

Guide cost: £274

GI Microbial Ecology Test

Conducted at home, this is a stool test which looks at the balance of the microbiome. It helps to identify any parasitic infection as well as levels of commensal and pathogen bacteria making up the microbiome.

Guide cost: £210

GI Effects Comp. Profile

The GI Effects comprehensive test  is a more comprehensive stool test that looks at key inflammatory markers, barrier integrity and gut efficiency as well as identifying levels of commensal and pathogen bacteria or parasitic presence in the microbiome.

Guide cost: £375

Health Check Blood Test

This blood test looks at c39 markers including cholesterol, HbA1c, liver function, inflammatory markers, thyroid and more to give a clear picture of your overall health status.

Guide cost: £220

Diamine Oxidase

Where histamine intolerance is suspected, understanding if the enzyme DAO is present is critical to understanding the condition.

Guide cost: £96

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL: Jamie & Tom

“Sarah is an excellent nutritionist who balances a great bedside manner with an authoritativeness that never feels intimidating or judgmental. Having realised a while ago that real health allows for no shortcuts, I simply ignored the matter altogether. Sarah put us on a plan that works while recognising that ‘life happens’ and that rather than rigidity, long-term success requires flexibility, discipline and a desire to improve.

Could not recommend Sarah more strongly!”
